Dr. Raisa Bhikoo

I am a highly qualified pulmonologist in Cape Town, dedicated to improving respiratory health. I earned my MBChB degree in 2011 and pursued advanced training in Internal Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch, graduating in 2020. Building on this foundation, I specialized in pulmonology and critical care through subspecialist training from 2021 to 2024.

My expertise lies in interventional pulmonology and critical care management, where I strive to provide advanced, patient-focused care. Outside of my practice, I enjoy running, traveling, and spending quality time with my children and family.

Sleep Apnea Diagnosis & Management

If you or your family have noticed the following, you may have sleep apnea:

  • Excessive snoring at night.
  • Periods where you stop breathing during sleep.
  • Feeling unrefreshed after a full night’s sleep.
  • Daytime sleepiness and occasional unexpected naps.
  • Struggling with uncontrolled high blood pressure.

If you answered "yes" to any of these, sleep apnea could be the cause.

Cape Lung Care offers thorough clinical workups for suspected sleep-disordered breathing, including obstructive and central sleep apnea. We offer both at-home and inpatient sleep studies, CPAP titration, and advice on the best home ventilation options suited to your needs. Additionally, we assist with medical motivations for home ventilation funding, ensuring you have the support you need.
